Can composite decking be laid on wooden joists?

Before ordering your composite decking joists and constructing your framework, you must check they are suitable for your decking. Some composite joists are only suitable for ground-level decks — not raised ones.
Do deck posts need to be cemented?
It’s usually best to cement your decking posts into the ground for stability and safety. This creates a secure foundation that reduces the risk of shifting your composite decking framework. It's not the only option — you can also look at using gravel or post anchors — but cementing is considered the most reliable option for both wooden and composite decks.
